Microsoft Rumored to Buy Dell

January 24, 2013 by rochelle in Business with 0 Comments

Rumors are afloat that Microsoft is in discussion with investors to buy Dell. Sources said Microsoft is considering spending anywhere between US$2-3 billion for the acquisition.

Dell, however, remains mum about any buyout. Rumors said the computer giant has fallen from its top rank as it faces the challenge of the public shifting to mobile devices. Sources also said Dell is considering going private.

This means that Dell would be delisted from the stock markets and would give the company some breathing space.

Microsoft is also mum about the rumors. The tech giant is believed to be talking with Silver Lake Partners for the buyout.

Dell shares gained some 2.4 percent to end at US$13.15. Industry analysts said that if any buyout pushes through, share price could be between US$13-14.
