Mars Resembles to Parts of US
Recently NASA released pictures of Mars taken by rover Curiosity, they display the same plate tectonics existing in California or Himalayan mountains. More and more the possibility of life on Mars deprives from fiction to reality.
Until recently scientists expected mother Earth to hold up another few hundred years to the pressure by the people, but now they find that the increase in population, industrial pollution and agriculture could lead to drastic changes in conditions of life.
In case the increase of population continues at the same pace, 50 % of Earth’s surface has to be used as agricultural land by 2025, to feed the human kind. Chinese water business is already booming with 10% foreign investment rate, meanwhile more than 80% of water used on Earth is not collected and recycled.
Signs of nature
UCLA geology professor An Yin’s assertion that the existence of plate tectonics on the Red Planet increase the chances that it had conditions capable of supporting life at some point in its history, Talkingpointsmemo reports.
Curiosity will also explore the areas on Mars for signs of habitability and help determine the history of water on the Red Planet.
When humans go to the moon or Mars, they’ll probably take plants with them. NASA-supported researchers are learning how greenhouses could work on other planets. Biologists are brooding over the possibility of soil-dwelling microbes to plant roots and soil processes.
So why not just take off to Mars sooner rather than later? A Dutch company Mars One is well on the way of making that fantasy to reality by establishing a settlement on the Red Planet by 2023. On their website they invite people to join by sharing their vision or even becoming the next Mars austronauts. Participants emigrate, live and work on Mars for the rest of their lives and are taken care by Mars One, note that return ticket is impossible.
