Germany’s Bush Boy a Hoax

June 18, 2012 by Triinu Maran in World with 0 Comments

For some unknown reason a 20 year-old Dutch boy turned to German police saying all his relatives have passed away and he’s left alone. He couldn’t remember his surname or where he lived before his bush adventures. He said his father called him Ray and said he was born in 20-th of June 1994.

He said he’s mom had died in a car accident when he was 12 and since then he and his father have lived in muldonnides, tents and caves for the last 5 years, according to nos.nl.

Bushboy, „Waldjunge“, as german newspapers named him, said he buried his father under some rocks after his father died almost a year ago. He couldn’t tell the cause of his death or the location of the grave.

Police couldn’t even figure out his nationality. Arriving to Berlin he spoke English and knew only few German words. He didn’t say though, that he’s English. Specialists couldn’t recognize any particular accent although he learned to speak German pretty fluently in the 9 months he was there.

over time police had their doubts, it was unlikely anyone would stay unnoticed in a forest near Berlin and „bush boy’s“ technology skills were pretty average.

Not before police released his photos his relatives, former classmates and teachers recognized him as Robin van Helsum. Police has to investigate why Robin made up a new identity for himself, but it’s likely he’ll receive a large bill for the expenses.
