iPhone 5 To Launch In October
Industry observers and fans continue to speculate on when the next-generation iPhone will be launched. One analyst believes tech giant Apple will release the new phone this October.
According to analyst Gene Munster, iPhone 5 will have a new design that veers away from what previous iPhones looked. He added that the new iPhone is more likely to resemble iPad 3’s metal rear panel.
Munster said the iPhone 5’s screen will most likely have a bigger screen than the current 3.5 inches. He also said that the new smartphone may include 4G LTE, higher megapixel camera, and upgraded memory and processor.
Munster’s predictions echo the speculations circulating online. Mac-dedicated blog iLounge also believes that the new Apple phone would be thinner and longer. The blog said it will have a scratch-resistant Gorilla glass 2 in the front.
Hotel Tonight CEO Sam Shank, meanwhile, said changing the screen size of the new iPhone would make it lightly wider but not necessarily taller.
Another feature of iPhone 5 that netizens is discussing is the flat and metallic panel at the central back.
News reports also came out recently where Apple said Steve Jobs had a direct hand in the conceptualization and development of the iPhone 5. A source said that even when Jobs was on medical leave because of his pancreatic cancer, he remained involved with the iPhone development.
Despite the rumors and speculations surrounding the iPhone 5, no one from Apple has confirmed nor denied anything. There is also no word still on when is the official launch date of the new iPhone.
