Oroton Brings Brooks Brothers To Australia

August 15, 2013 by rochelle in Business with 0 Comments

Shoppers in Australia will soon be introduced to Brooks Brothers, a well-established fashion label from the United States, as the Oroton Group has won a deal with the 200-year old clothing company.

Only last week, Oroton, which recently welcomed its newest Chief Executive Mark Newman, has declared it will have to downgrade due to the fact that the company has lost famous fashion brand Ralph Lauren from its roster. The company’s share plunged 10% lower when this was announced. But this new deal with Brooks Brothers should be able to fill in the gaps of losing the Ralph Lauren licence.

Mr. Newman is optimistic about bringing the brand to this country, as well as New Zealand. Brooks Brothers is expected to open 25 stores in the region in the next five years, adding to the over 500 stores it already operates across 25 other countries. Its online store averages $1 Million sales yearly.

Said Mr. Newman, “We certainly see [Brooks Brothers] as something that will help to contribute to fill some of that gap from Ralph Lauren, but it won’t fill it all and we are looking for other opportunities.”

Mr. Newman said that this is a different business than Ralph Lauren. “It has a very strong repeat customer. We will be opening full price stores, factory outlets, department store concession opportunities, and there is also a great wholesale opportunity.”

Analysts say that having Brooks Brothers would generate $3 Million in sales for Oroton and could potentially rise to $50 Million after five years.
