September 11, 2012 by rochelle in Business with 0 Comments

In a bid to boost its business, News Ltd is offering new products and services in partnership with Foxtel. News Ltd has about 50 percent stake in Foxtel.

According to industry sources, Foxtel would start offering free installation for those who will purchase News Ltd.’s Digital Passes. In addition, Foxtel would also offer a year’s subscription for half the price.

Based on the notification filed to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, close to 500 people are expected to snatch the offer.

The promotional offer is to help boost News Ltd.’s fledgling business. In October of last  year, the company started charging its readers if they want to have full access of News Ltd.’s online content. Foxtel’s offer would run for one month.

According to News Ltd, the company currently has about 40,000 digital subscribers as of March 2012. The company, however, has yet to release the latest subscriber data.
