ACCC Pushes for Banning Con Man

September 4, 2012 by rochelle in Business with 0 Comments

Peter Foster, the conman convicted of a $6-million weight-loss, was said to have taken extreme measures to cover his tracks.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is seeking a court order that will inevitably prevent Foster from heading a company for at least 20 years. The court order also seeks to cover the banning of other Sensaslim Spray executives.

This was the company Foster apparently represented when he conned 90 investors of their money.

Simon White, counsel for the ACCC, said that Foster’s dodgy business practices were nothing new. He allegedly hid under different aliases while tapping potential investors through phone and email.

Foster never met with his investors personally.

The ACCC counsel reiterated that Foster was no stranger to scams.

Foster allegedly promised investors “little risk with much rewards,” only if the investors would promote the products offered by Sensaslim Spray.

Sensaslim Spray claims to work with weight loss of up to 45 kilograms in just a little less than six months of use. The oral spray is supposed to contain appetite suppressants and its effectiveness is reportedly backed by clinical trials.

The ACCC is firm on the fact that no trials were done to ascertain the product’s benefits.
