NewsCorp Loses Digital Head
Jonathan Miller has resigned from NewsCorp, following the organization’s split. Miller is the digital operations head of NewsCorp.
According to NewsCorp, Miller’s resignation would become effective end of September 2012. He said the move is due to the company’s new direction of splitting into two separate companies. Miller assumed the chief digital officer post in 2009.
Despite his resignation, however, Miller would continue to serve as external advisor to the company when it comes to digital issues. His advisory function would continue until fall of 2013.
Media mogul and NewsCorp chairman and chief executive Rupert Murdoch praised Miller and credited him for revamping the company’s online properties. He also acknowledged Miller’s role in focusing on digital content distribution.

Before NewsCorp, Miller headed Time Warner’s online unit. There, he led efforts of digital TV company Roku and Bona Film Group. Miller also managed MySpace, which NewsCorp purchased in 2005.
