Chrome Is Browser King
Google has once again claimed dominance over the online world with Chrome overtaking Microsoft’s Internet Explorer.
According to StatCounter, Chrome is now the most-used browser. Data showed that Google’s web browser has maintained its dominance for one whole week. StatCounter said 31.88 percent of web traffic in the world was coursed through Chrome.
Internet Explorer was at a close second with 31.47 percent.
It is also worth noting that use of Chrome has been regularly increasing while IE use is going down. Chrome is popular in South America and India.
Internet Explorer is still used in many regions like North America. This does not come as a surprise since this is the default web browser for all Windows devices. According to statistics, close to 90 percent of computers in the world are Windows-based.
Those who are very familiar with technology, however, tend to use Chrome because of its speed and clean user interface.
The browser war is expected to heat up even further when Microsoft releases Internet Explorer 10 later this year. IE10’s launch will also coincide with the release of Windows 8.
Industry observers also note that Windows tablet might force users to exclusively use IE10. Currently, Windows-based machines allow users to use other browsers like Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.
Chrome was launched by tech giant Google in 2008 to compete head-on with Internet Explorer.
